USM Drops Parking Lot Plan
USM has dropped its proposal to develop the green space at Danforth and High into a parking lot. Residents of the area around High and Danforth Street were organizing to oppose the development of the green space into paved parking for USM students. A petition being circulated in the neighborhood garnered more than 100 signatures.
West End City Councilor David Marshall had expressed opposition to the parking lot, which would have accommodated 14 cars.
